Senior Software Engineer

Our client is a Silicon Valley company specializing in Vertical AI SaaS solutions, collaborating with top firms worldwide in industries such as accounting, consulting, investment banking, legal, private capital, and real assets.

They're growing their Lisbon R&D hub and seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to help build a cutting-edge AI cloud platform—driving scalable, innovative solutions in a global, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Development: Design and implement scalable features and services in Java, contributing to a high-performance microservices architecture.
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with product management to influence product direction and technical priorities.
• Full SDLC Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for features—across backend and optionally frontend—with a focus on code quality and operational excellence.
• Technology Awareness: Keep up with the latest advancements in software engineering, cloud computing, and modern development practices to inform and elevate technical decisions.

What You Bring

• Java Expertise: 5+ years of professional experience building robust, production-grade Java applications.
• Frameworks: Proficiency with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and building RESTful APIs.
• Cloud Skills: Experience with Azure (preferred), Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with Git-based workflows.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito/PowerMock, and BDD tools.
• Soft Skills: Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and collaborative problem-solver.
• Bonus: Exposure to frontend development is a plus.
