Senior Data Engineer

Our client is a leading European GameTech company specialising in online sports betting and gaming, with operations across multiple countries. They’re currently seeking AI Data Engineers to join their AI department. In this role, you’ll focus on delivering robust and scalable data pipelines which transform raw data to features that can be used in Machine Learning models.

Key Responsibilities

• Build Scalable Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data processing pipelines in distributed, data-intensive production environments.
• Develop Production Microservices: Create and maintain Python microservices that serve data features and models in live environments.
• Support CI/CD and Experimentation: Build internal tools to support CI/CD pipelines, experiment tracking, and data versioning across ML workflows.
• Ensure Data Quality: Implement robust data validation and monitoring processes to guarantee data integrity and reliability.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and DevOps to optimise end-to-end data and ML workflows.
• Contribute to Architecture: Play a key role in architectural decisions and enforce engineering best practices within the ML and data infrastructure team.

What You Bring

• Python Development Experience: Significant experience in software development using Python in large-scale, high-performance production environments.
• Apache Spark Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PySpark for distributed data processing.
• Data Modelling Skills: Strong experience in data modelling and working with both structured and unstructured data.
• Apache Kafka Proficiency: Proven experience working with Apache Kafka in production-grade systems.
• Cloud Environment Experience: Solid background in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Distributed System Design: Expert-level understanding and experience in designing distributed software systems.
• Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): Familiarity with the Databricks Platform, experience in real-time data processing frameworks, exposure to NoSQL databases such as Redis and Neo4j, and a solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and the ML project lifecycle.
