Senior Manager - Fund SPV Administration
Our client is a dynamic, mid-market European private equity firm with offices across major financial hubs is setting up a European hub in Lisbon, enabling a greater balance of insourced operations and supporting the continued growth of the firm. Over time, the Lisbon hub is expected to centralise many finance and operations functions, offering excellent opportunities for career development and cross-border collaboration.
The firm is seeking a Senior Manager to assist in building out a SPV Administration team to enable the insourcing of fund SPVs. This is a newly formed team, and the Senior Manager will be the first hire within the team, giving an opportunity to develop systems, processes and the team. Once hired, the team is expected to comprise c.4 employees and to grow over time.
About the Role:
• Build a new SPV Administration function in Lisbon, the team is expected to comprise 4 team members initially and growing over time
• Put in place the structure, systems and processes to insource the administration of SPVs across jurisdictions, taking over from outsourced administrators and portfolio teams
• Develop an efficient, light touch, low risk process to ensure large numbers of SPVs can be brought in house; this could be in excess of 200 SPVs within 2 years
• Build a best-in-class SPV Administration, through coaching and enhancing processes
• Take the lead on transactions for SPV Administration ensuring a smooth and efficient process
Leadership
• Work with the Head of Fund operations in developing and shaping the insourced SPV function.
• Work with the Head of Fund operations to drive efficiency gains, develop an optimal team structure and provide overall leadership within finance.
• Collaborate with the SPV Finance & Finance Operations team and broader Finance and Operations function, specialist teams and the investment teams to provide support to the business.
• Support broader Transformation initiatives across the firm.
Skills required:
• Leadership: Ability to build and manage teams.
• Industry experience: 5 to 10 years of exposure to Private Equity transaction is required; this can be from within a fund manager, or within professional services firms eg. as an auditor.
• Excellent data management skills to contribute to the automatisation of current processes.
• Systems: Exceptional business analytical and software skills to contribute to the digitalisation of fund management.
• Communication: Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
• Organisation: Excellent organisational skills; able to manage a wide range of responsibilities for yourself and your team.
Note: the role is likely to involve occasional travel to London and Luxembourg.
