In her role as HR Director for Greater China, Sommer is responsible for HR operations, learning & development, talent acquisition and employee engagement.

Sommer started her career in the recruitment industry in Australia in 2002, before moving to Hong Kong in 2006. In recent times, Sommer has guided the business through the challenges of Hong Kong’s civil unrest and has been at the leading edge of the business’s response to the Covid-19 outbreak as it first impacted Robert Walters’ Mainland China operations, swiftly followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Olivia Pearl, the L&D Manager at Robert Walters based in London, covering UKIMEA & Switzerland. Olivia’s remit is in supporting employees in their personal development throughout their careers in the business, as well as supporting managers in their effectiveness to ultimately lead their teams to success. 

Olivia’s training offering has been adapted quickly in response to COVID-19, to provide online training access and resources to staff, netting some unforeseen wins with regards to proactivity to learning, as well as new connections and engagement across the business.

With 15 years’ experience within recruitment and HR technology, Tom advises major employers on all aspects of innovation in recruitment from fresh approaches in sourcing to meritocratic hiring and the benefits (and challenges) of Artificial Intelligence.

At Resource Solutions, Tom has delivered pioneering innovation projects including AI sourcing, chatbot screening and behavioural insights studies to minimise bias in recruitment.
