Software architect

One of the most innovative start-ups based in the hearts of Zurich, Switzerland and Lisbon, Portugal is looking for inspired and motivated professionals to be part of their team in Lisbon.

Functions:

• Drive the transition of the the company platform to a microservice architecture and lead the corresponding team
• Work with other engineering teams to define and build scalable architecture and implementation
• Own the architecture and decide which technologies, patterns, practices and tooling to use
• Justify architecture choices through documentation, reviews and demonstrating how they produce an optimal solution
• Mentor fellow software engineers and be a role model specifically when it comes to coding and problem solving
• Get your hands dirty and implement some features yourself, as and when required

Requirements:

• Proven experience building or architecting high-reliability software systems
• Strong understanding of distributed system design and security principles
• The ability to create innovative cutting-edge software architecture that excels thanks to its maintainability
• A knack for writing web applications; and technologies like gRPC, Kubernetes, Akka and NoSQL DBs are no strangers to you
• Excellent communication skills in English
