Senior Software Developer

Our client is a luxury fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform, primarily serving private clients in the US, and looking to expand internationally. They are seeking a Senior Software Developer to work across the full web stack and join their high-performing engineering team. In this role, you will have the autonomy to architect systems, make technical decisions, and see your ideas shipped to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full-Stack Development: Lead design, development, and optimisation of scalable applications using Next.js, React.js, Node.js, and MySQL.
• System Architecture: Drive architecture discussions and design new modules and features with focus on scalability, modularity, and performance.
• End-to-End Implementation: Own implementation from planning to deployment, following best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
• API & Integration: Build performant RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with modular frontend components.
• Performance Optimisation: Continuously improve client and server-side performance, including TTFB, LCP, code splitting, caching, DB tuning, and Lighthouse score optimisations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with design, product, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver user-centric, scalable experiences.
• Code Quality & Guidance: Review code, provide architectural guidance, and advocate for engineering excellence.
• DevOps & Deployment: Use Docker and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) for deployments to AWS in a microservices environment.
• AI Productivity Tools: Leverage AI developer tools to boost productivity and guide their effective usage across the team.

What You Bring:

• Experience: 4–7 years in full-stack web development, including senior or lead roles.
• Frontend & Backend: Strong skills in JavaScript (ES6+), React.js, Next.js, Node.js.
• Database: Proficient in MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning.
• AI Tools: Familiarity with AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Tabnine).
• Performance: Ability to optimise frontend and backend performance.
• Analytics: Working knowledge of GA4 for tracking performance and user interactions.
• APIs & Microservices: Experience with REST APIs, microservices, error handling, and versioning.
• DevOps & Deployment: Experience with Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins), and AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS).
• Code Quality: Clean, maintainable code; experience with code reviews, testing frameworks, and documentation.
• Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and independently owning features.
• Language: English (mandatory).
