IT Security Manager

Our client is a leading Portuguese renewable energy company focused on wind and solar power. They are seeking a hands-on IT Security Manager to join their Operational IT Department in Porto.

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of IT to lead the Cybersecurity function across the group, aligning strategy with business priorities while driving initiatives that protect both IT systems and OT environments, including critical infrastructure supporting wind farm operations (eolic parks). You will oversee risk management and incident prevention efforts in accordance with international standards, while fostering a strong cybersecurity culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cybersecurity Leadership: Lead cybersecurity initiatives, aligning with business goals and international standards. Manage and develop the team, help define budgets and security projects, and foster a strong security culture.
• Risk Management & Incident Response: Identify and mitigate risks across IT and OT environments, ensuring resilience of critical assets. Lead incident response activities and ensure regular testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Technical Implementation: Design, implement, and manage security tools and solutions to protect critical systems and infrastructure. Administer security platforms and tools, including SIEM and vulnerability management. Support departments in implementing controls and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices throughout the group. Develop and maintain security policies and procedures, audit systems, and track key performance indicators to monitor effectiveness. Coordinate internal and external audits and oversee timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• External Coordination: Manage vendor and SOC relationships, and lead awareness and training initiatives.

What You Bring:

• Academic Background: Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Networks and Systems, or equivalent.
• Professional Experience: Consolidated experience in IT/OT cybersecurity, leadership, stakeholder management, and coordination with third-party vendors.
• Language Skills: Native Portuguese and professional proficiency in English.
