Head of Data Science

One of our major clients in the area of life science and personalised medicine is looking to add a driven Head of Data Science to innovate and validate their optics platform. This company uses AI and photonics to build a cloud-based library of disease biomarkers and biological profiles. Their main objective is to use newest advances in life science research, combined with AI and computational methods to treat Alzheimer’s. Besides their main focus on neurodegenerative diseases, they also lead projects on digestive cancer, stroke and infectious diseases.

What you will be doing:

• Implement AI and ML models for the development of fiber-based photonics technology
• Design, plan and analyse experiments for product role out
• Lead, direct and develop the data science team
• Develop data science organisation and capabilities
• Provide strategic guidance and direction
• Be directly responsible for key scientific projects
• Provide expertise within the field of data science and data product development
• Liaise between customers and the business – helping deliver technology to the market

Requirements

• PhD or a Master’s degree in computer science, computational physics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, data science, computational chemistry or similar
• 5 years of experience with data science, AI and ML
• Experience with DL and computational science
• Experience with experimental design
• Fluency in English
