Our client, a leading Silicon Valley company specialising in Vertical AI SaaS solutions, collaborates with top firms worldwide in industries such as accounting, consulting, investment banking, legal, private capital, and real assets. They’re looking for a Cloud Platform Architect to join their growing team at their new Research & Development centre in Lisbon. In this role you’ll design and build cloud infrastructure and platform services, collaborating with product engineering teams to ensure applications are built on a scalable, reliable, and efficient cloud foundation.
Key Responsibilities
• Cloud Platform Ownership: Take full responsibility for the cloud platform architecture, ensuring it supports product teams and integrates seamlessly with their applications.
• Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work closely with product engineering teams to translate their requirements into robust architectural solutions.
• Integrate New Features: Oversee the addition of new features to the cloud platform, prioritising performance, cost-efficiency, security, and scalability.
• Research and Innovate: Continuously explore new cloud technologies and tools to identify opportunities for platform improvement.
• Recommend Strategic Technologies: Suggest technology adoptions that align with strategic goals and business priorities.
• Cloud Governance: Establish and enforce governance policies to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Comprehensive Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and guidelines, to support understanding and troubleshooting.
• Cost Efficiency: Ensure all platform components are cost-effective to operate and maintain.
• Advice on Best Practices: Partner with engineering teams to guide them in applying cloud best practices to their designs and architectures.
• Refine Architectures: Regularly review and optimise existing architectures to meet changing business and technology needs.
What You Bring
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Cloud Architecture Expertise: Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on Azure.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Linux, Windows, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, AI/ML, and serverless technologies.
• Large-Scale Cloud Solutions: Demonstrated success in designing and implementing scalable cloud solutions.
• Deep Cloud Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Azure Specialist: Expertise in Azure cloud services and architecture.
• Containerisation Skills: Proficient in Kubernetes orchestration and containerisation.
• Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and MSSQL.
• AI/ML Experience: Skilled in working with AI/ML technologies.
• Serverless Computing: Hands-on experience with serverless computing and related frameworks.
• Collaboration, Leadership, and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
