Hard Goods Buyer (Junior)

Multinational company is looking for a Hard Goods Buyer based in the greater Lisbon area, to help source general required products in the most cost-efficient ways. It needs to be someone who has worked in procurement departments and has general experience as a buyer. The position will require a buyer that can source and purchase any type of goods (non-food) for international import/export (wide range of products, like kitchen and construction materials). Mandatory to be fluent in Portuguese and English – Oral and written.

The main responsibilities are:
• Sourcing products based on given requirements, like brand, models, sizes, functions;
• Source vendors in different parts of the world;
• Evaluate vendors for price, delivery, performance;
• Able to present sourcing strategies that align with corporate objectives;
• Conduct negotiation of category items assigned;
• Maintain an update supplier qualification based on different criteria set up by the company;
• Experienced with working with international suppliers and with import processes and regulations,
• Effectively manage supplier’s performance to meet cost and quality objectives;
• Maintain a proper purchasing cycle;
• Review and submit purchase orders, ensuring existing orders are delivered on time by monitoring all open orders and contacting vendors as needed;
• Work with internal customers and suppliers to resolve issues related to purchased materials;
• Ensure all products meet the required quality standards.

You need to have a Bachelor’s Degree Education Level, with 3+ years’ experience as a buyer on a procurement department. Must have superior organizational and problem-solving skills as well as working knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel). You should have: familiarity with accounting principles and practices, simple tasks of payments and balances calculations; the ability to conduct business with professionalism and diplomacy at all levels in the company; and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines while maintaining sense of urgency multi-tasking daily duties.
