Procurement Manager

Global manufacturing leader in polymer products is currently searching for its Procurement Manager, being the position based in Leiria, Portugal.

About the Procurement Manager role (reporting to the Logistics Manager).

The main functions will be to:

- Purchase direct and indirect materials (a few million euros/month).

- Manage and improve the Purchasing department, 2 FTE’s and the daily operations.

- Implement the strategy and the policies of the group.

- Create, implement and control the annual purchasing plan in accordance with each targeted KPI.

- Implement improvement activities.

- Manage the supply contracts, namely the bid process, the evaluation of suppliers, quality of the products and services and the compliance with the specifications, the standards and the regulations.

- Study the market to understand and assure the availability of suppliers, raw materials, new materials, new suppliers and the prices trend.

- Realize periodical audits and the annual assessment to the main suppliers, defining the list of key suppliers.

- Manage the complaints and returns to suppliers.

- Be a backup for the realization of the daily tasks

- Look for risks and opportunities.

For this position, we require a Procurement professional with 3-5 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing industry within an international environment and a provable success track record. Required an engineering degree, knowledge of business administration, experience in Microsoft Office applications and in ERP.

Fluency in Portuguese and English, a third European language such as Spanish or French would be a strong plus. Excellent communication skills (all levels) are mandatory.
