International renewable energy company is seeking a Development and Project Environmental Specialist to ensure that renewable energy projects are developed and implemented in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. Reporting to the Project Director Iberia, the Development and Project Environmental Specialist will be responsible for performing field inspections with subcontractors, preparing detailed reports, and overall coordination with Environmental Authorities.

Responsibilities:

• Permitting and licensing: Securing necessary permits and licenses, including environmental permits, and ensuring that projects comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards;
• Environmental assessment: Conducting environmental assessments, including site surveys and impact assessments;
• Environmental management: Developing and implementing environmental management plans, including mitigating environmental risks and impacts;
• Stakeholder engagement: Engaging with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and environmental organizations;
• Environmental monitoring: Monitoring and reporting on environmental performance and compliance, including conducting regular site inspections and preparing environmental reports;
• Design and implement effective employee training programs.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field is preferred;
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role;
• Experience in environmental management and assessment, as well as a strong understanding of the renewable energy sector;
• Excellent understanding of environmental regulations and standards in Portugal, as well as international environmental standards, such as ISO 14001:
• Good knowledge of health and safety programs.
