Head of Photonics

Award-Winning Biotech startup company is looking to establish itself in the market, and is looking for it's head of photonics.

About the Head of Photonics Role

Reporting directly to the executive management, the head of photonics will:

• Be responsible for leading critical projects and assisting the resolution of technical challenges.
• Oversee and coordinate the design of optical fiber probes, model simulations, and multimodal spectroscopic methods.
• Develop experimental procedures for the characterization of optical fiber systems and sensors for biomedical and biological applications.
• Lead advancements to the company's platforms, by incorporating developments in optical fiber-based photonics and spectroscopy fields.
• Assist the validation of functional requirements, and creation of value for customers and business, by helping deliver innovative technology to the market.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Physics, or related area, with 5+ years of relevant research or industry experience in optical technologies.
• Track record of development and implementation of biphotonic techniques, spectroscopy, and/or optical fiber applications at nanoscale.
• 360º knowledge in optical fiber sensors - simulation, development, fabrication, and characterization of lensed optical fibers and other types of fiber tips.
• Knowledge in light-matter interactions and complex optical assays applied to biologic liquid samples are a plus.
• Strong theoretical and experimental skills with the design of experiments using spectroscopic techniques such as light scattering, Raman methods, and FTIR are a plus.
