Senior Manager Finance Transformation
Our client, a multinational Private Equity, is setting up a European hub in Lisbon and is looking for a Senior Manager - Finance Transformation, that will report to the Finance & Transformation Director. This person will lead a portfolio of high-impact transformation initiatives focused on digital enablement, process optimisation, and automation within Finance.
This role will be central to establishing and scaling the finance-related capabilities of the new Lisbon office, ensuring the foundations are in place to support long-term success. This position will act as a key driver of change—promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and innovation across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end delivery of finance transformation initiatives, from project planning through execution, implementation, and post-go-live support.

Provide a strategic, organisation-wide perspective to ensure alignment of workstreams with broader finance and business priorities.

Identify potential risks across projects and propose mitigation strategies.

Conduct process reviews, interviews, and workshops with internal finance teams to gather requirements and identify optimisation opportunities.

Challenge existing ways of working and recommend practical, innovative solutions.

Define KPIs and monitor the effectiveness and impact of transformation initiatives.

Oversee the transition of newly implemented processes/systems into BAU, ensuring adoption and long-term sustainability.

Build and maintain a knowledge hub capturing best practices and lessons learned from transformation initiatives.

Develop a strong understanding of operational functions across the organisation to ensure well-informed decision-making.

Partner with Project Managers to maintain visibility on scope, timelines, and budgets.

Support the Centre of Excellence by managing workstreams, resources, and priorities in line with team capabilities.

Lead, mentor, and develop team members through regular feedback and performance check-ins.

Foster a collaborative, accountable, and innovation-driven team culture.
Skills & Experience:

Experience: Proven background in finance transformation or change management within complex organisations. Accounting qualification is a plus.

Methodologies: Exposure to change management frameworks and agile methodologies is advantageous.

Industry: Experience in financial services preferred; Private Equity experience not required.

Systems knowledge: Familiarity with leading finance systems (GL, consolidation, reporting, AP, etc.).

Analytical ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Organisation: Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities—both individually and within the team.

Stakeholder management: Proven capability to collaborate with internal and external partners to gather technical information and support project execution.
