Sr. Manager SPV Fund Finance
A dynamic, mid-market European private equity firm with offices across major financial hubs (and new locations planned for 2026) is setting up a European hub in Lisbon, enabling a greater balance of insourced operations and supporting the continued growth of the firm. Over time, the Lisbon hub is expected to centralise many finance and operations functions, offering excellent opportunities for career development and cross-border collaboration.
We are looking for a Senior Manager – SPV Fund Finance to establish and lead a newly created SPV Finance function within a growing international organisation. As the first hire in this team, you will have a unique opportunity to design the operating model, implement systems and processes, and build a high-performing team from the ground up.
This function will be central to the insourcing of accounting and reporting for a large population of SPVs, ensuring scalable, efficient and robust financial operations. The team is expected to start with approximately six professionals and expand significantly over time.
Key Responsibilities
SPV Finance
•Build and lead a new Lisbon-based SPV Finance function, with a team expected to grow over time.
•Design and implement the structure, systems and processes required to bring SPV accounting and reporting in-house from external administrators.
•Develop efficient, low-risk workflows to manage a large number of SPVs — potentially exceeding 200 within three years.
•Oversee SPV-related transactions, ensuring smooth execution and high-quality delivery.
•Drive continuous improvement across processes, controls and team capabilities.
Leadership
•Partner with senior finance leadership to shape, refine and scale the SPV Finance operating model.
•Support the development, coaching and growth of the team, ensuring a strong technical foundation and operational excellence.
•Contribute to broader finance leadership efforts, promoting efficiency and strong governance.
Internal Collaboration
•Work closely with Finance, Operations, specialist teams and Investment teams to provide ongoing support to the business.
•Participate in wider transformation initiatives, contributing to process optimisation and organisational evolution.
Skills & Experience
•Ability to build and manage teams
•Ideally a qualified accountant, ideally Big-4, with 10-15 years plus experience within accounting related roles
•Private Equity experience not required, but funds experience valued; this can be from within a fund manager, or within professional services firms eg. as an auditor
•Experience leading a large-scale transformation project would be highly valued
•Experience reporting under IFRS, US GAAP or Lux GAAP preferred
•Analytical mindset, being able to understand what the numbers are saying and to see the gaps in controls
•Excellent systems skills including financial modelling skills very useful
Note: The role will involve regular travel to London and Luxembourg.
If you believe you are the right person for this role just appply to it!
