General Accounting Country Specialist

This opportunity is to join the finance team, where the selected professional will be responsible for the daily processing of General Accounting activities, ensuring the accurate execution of transactions, meeting monthly and periodic closing deadlines, and complying with regulatory requirements. The role will interact with internal stakeholders and country teams, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
Main Responsibilities
- Account reconciliation (bank, customers, suppliers, intercompany, balance sheet)
- Account analysis and resolution of variances/outstanding balances
- Preparation of country‑specific financial analyses
- Monthly and annual General Accounting closing, ensuring proper cut‑offs and accruals
- Validation of standard journal entries and posting of country‑specific entries
- Pre‑closing analysis: reviews, accruals, deferrals, and adjustments
- Tax Accounting: support with tax calculations and accounting–tax reconciliations
- Periodic reporting for management and audit purposes (internal and group, when applicable)
- Support to the Business Partner in ensuring service quality and delivery
- Support to transversal departments (e.g., AP, AR, Treasury, Tax)
- Operational point of contact for General Accounting with country teams and internal stakeholders
Desired Profile
- Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting/General Accounting functions
- Experience with MS Office and ERP systems (Oracle is a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills (lookup functions, pivot tables, formulas, modelling)
- English and German – independent user level (B2+)
- Valued experience with month‑end closing, reconciliations, and reporting standards
