Assistant Management Accountant

Our client, a global fintech company transforming bank payments, is looking for a Part-Qualified Accountant to join its Financial Control team in Lisbon.

This role will support the month-end close process, preparation of financial accounts, and the delivery of audits across multiple entities. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in the financial reporting process.

About the role:

• Prepare monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions across all entities.
• Own key balance sheet accounts, performing reconciliations monthly and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Assist with the preparation of annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Provide cover for bank reconciliations when needed.
• Support the Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller in ad hoc projects and financial initiatives.
• Collaborate with AP, Tax, and Management Reporting teams to ensure smooth end-to-end financial processes.

What we’re looking for:

• ACCA/CIMA part-qualified or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or multi-currency environment.
• Hands-on experience with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Intermediate Excel / Google Sheets skills.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in meeting reporting deadlines.
• Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
