Accounts Payble Senior Specialist
Our client, a global fintech company providing innovative payment solutions, is currently recruiting an Accounts Payable Senior Specialist to join its Group Finance team in Lisbon.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable function within the Group Financial Control department, ensuring that all processes and supplier payments comply with group policies and internal controls. The position will have a strong focus on efficiency, process improvement, and operational excellence, working closely with the Transformation team to enhance automation and implement best practices.
About the role:
- Supervise the Accounts Payable process and the day-to-day activities of an AP Administrator, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and supplier payments.
- Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness, ensuring all transactions comply with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Transformation team to maintain and strengthen effective financial controls and automation initiatives.
- Support process and control improvement projects across the AP function, acting as decision maker, project lead, or contributor.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose process changes to enhance accuracy, speed, and internal control effectiveness.
- Coach and support the professional development of the Accounts Payable Associate.
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across multiple departments and geographies, ensuring smooth information flow and alignment with group objectives.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, with an advanced understanding of the full AP process.
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems; Coupa certification and proficiency in NetSuite AP module will be considered a strong plus.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage priorities and multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-growth environment.
- Fluency in English; other European languages are an advantage.
